Description
Team of Youth Construction and Technology Bureau Polytech Solar Team, supporting the idea of sustainable environmental development, created a unique vehicle - the first Russian solar car SOL.
The purpose of the project is to unleash the potential of Russian technologies and to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly transport in the lives of people, thus making our country cleaner and quieter.
The main objectives is to promote "green" vehicles in Russia, to demonstrate promising potential of renewable energy sources and to attract young specialists to the productive work on innovative projects that can people, country and environment can benefit from.
Special innovative solutions:
- creation of a unique high-performance electric motor,
- super-modern vehicle control system - the autopilot,
- ultralight bearing monocoque with aramid bottom protection
- chassis with carbon-fiber elements,
- regenerative braking system.
Specifications
Solar car exterior will be different fromm a usual cars. It's width is 2 meters, length - more than 4 meters, height - 1 meter. Maximum speed - 120 km / h. Solar car will be no more than 160 kg (without a pilot). The size of solar panels - 4 sq.m.
Polytech Solar Team will represent Russia at the world's largest solar car race World Solar Challenge in Australia in October, 2017. The goal of the championship is to cross the Australian continent from north to south/ The total length of the route is 3021 km.
Competition is held since 1987 but Russia haven't particiate yet. Polytech Solar Team will be the first national team to compete with the best world "solar" racers.
