Center for Scientific and Technical Creativity of Youth

The center for scientific and technical creativity of youth (CSTM) was established in SPbPU March 5, 2012. The main tasks of the center are to attract students and schoolchildren to technical creativity; to identify talented young people and provide them with opportunities to implement their technical ideas.

Center`s main objective is to engage students and schoolchildren into technical creativity; to find talented youth and give them an opportunity to realize their technical ideas. The center has a number of youth associations. One of the largest structures of the center is Fablab Polytech, an open digital production laboratory, member of the worldwide Fab Lab network.

FabLab Polytech is part of a global network of high-tech manufacturing laboratories. The obligatory basis of the equipment in them consists of a 3D printer, a 3D scanner, an engraver, a laser and milling machines. The facilities of the premises make it possible to use Fablab as a zone of technological coworking and conduct research seminars, practical training, master classes and trainings. The main goal of Fablab is to provide students and schoolchildren with the opportunity to realize their technical ideas within the walls of SPbPU.
